Lenovo thrills us with many useful features on this IdeaPad Y710-200, but it fumbles the ball a little in its implementation of the 'Game Zone'. It's also let down by a lack of Gigabit networking and a digital TV tuner.

The HP 2133 Mini-Note PC (FJ100PA) is designed to be a true ultraportable device, sturdy enough to take some knocks and light enough for everyday use. Business users will appreciate the connectivity and networking options. When compared in terms of specifications, performance and value of the FH441PA model it doesn’t shine as brightly.

While it has a fast CPU and good features, such as built-in 3G connectivity, the U6Sg is let down by poor battery life. This is a major drawback for a unit that's pitched at style-conscious road warriors. If considering this unit, you should either opt for the slower CPU, or the larger, 9-cell battery.

The tiny Flybook V5 is aimed squarely at the business user. It's very mobile, has 3G capability and it can function as a tablet PC. However, it's a hard-to-use laptop and it's missing some useful tablet features, such as a dedicated button for rotating the screen.

While we love the size and weight of this netbook, its keyboard is very hard to type on due to the non-standard key layout.

It has a few flaws, but the 2230s is a capable laptop for business users. It has good speed, plenty of security options, and it's a portable size, but it could use more RAM and some design tweaks.

Don't even think about using this notebook on the road; it's strictly for those who require a desktop replacement with home entertainment features. It has Blu-ray, HDMI and a high-definition screen. Even though it's a fast unit, it doesn't even have the fastest gizzards on the market.
