The Photosmart C5380 is HP’s first low-priced multifunction to provide truly competitive print quality without much being sacrificed.

The Samsung CLP-315 is relatively light on dimensions and rather pleasing to look at. For home users who need to run off numbers of text documents mixed in with the odd colour image, this printer's $269 price makes it an enticing buy. Just don't expect it to run at a blistering pace.

The LBP5975 has some shortcomings which will affect the way the printer is integrated into a workgroup environment and its use for photo printing. Apart from this though, the LBP5975 is an excellent choice for any office looking for high volume colour printing.

The Colour LaserJet CM1312nfi packs in a decent number of features for a low asking price, but significant drawbacks ultimately make it uninspiring. This is a jack of all trades and master of none.

Speed aside, the Colour LaserJet CP3505dn has few problems. With good colour, automatic duplex and the functionality to meet the mono and colour printing needs of the standard office, this printer's only problem is the cost of consumables.

The P4515x is a great option for those who need good quality, fast. With automatic duplex, comprehensive security and remote administration capability, this unit performs admirably as a workgroup printer and has few drawbacks.

There is little difference in functionality or capability between the bizhub 421 and 501, so the price difference clearly favours the bizhub 421. Unless every ounce of performance matters, the bizhub 421 is a more reasonable purchase.

Konica Minolta’s bizhub 501 provides adequate functionality for the medium-sized office with fast print speeds and decent remote administration capability. This multifunction is let down by mono scanning, however.

The bizhub c200 feels like it was cobbled together out of spare parts, and gives the feel of an unfinished multifunction which never made it past primary testing. With slow printing at low quality and an unusable Web interface, this machine just isn’t sufficient to meet the needs of a medium-sized business.

At a bargain basement price the TX200 provides surprising quality and performance, making this multifunction hard to pass up. There are inherent flaws in such a cheap printer, but for families and occasional printing needs the TX200 is a decent purchase.

The Stylus Office TX300F is slow and poorly built, but for its price it’s certainly appealing. The unit provides a slight compromise between dirt cheap and acceptable quality, and the automatic document feeder is a welcome feature.
