The Stylus Office TX300F is slow and poorly built, but for its price it’s certainly appealing. The unit provides a slight compromise between dirt cheap and acceptable quality, and the automatic document feeder is a welcome feature.

The LaserJet P3005x offers a huge amount of features, so it can deal with a wide range of situations where delivering good quality mono printing is important. Although the P4015n out-specs the P3005x in quality and performance at the same price, the P3005x has enhanced office functionality and is Energy Star certified.

Scanning certainly isn’t a strong point of the M2727nf, but this is more than made up for by its print quality and speed.

It's too bad about the inks, because the Dell V305W is a nice printer in many ways. But even if you don't print all that much, you'll notice the dent in your wallet fairly quickly. And unfortunately, this printer doesn't print money.

Although the only major issue with the LaserJet M1522n is its scanning functionality, there are numerous small niggles that make it a largely unimpressive device. Print speeds are some of the fastest in its class, but an expensive price point is unlikely to entice potential buyers.

Although budget printers are never completely satisfactory to use, the Deskjet D2560 makes a decent attempt. It feels delicate, but its speed, quality and running costs make it tempting.

Although it isn’t the prettiest printer about, the P4015N is certainly functional and will suit businesses in need of high volume printing.

The Canon Selphy CP770 offers an excellent choice of connection and editing options and we couldn't fault it.

Although it isn’t the most stylish printer out there, the PM270 prints fairly fast and produces decent quality. It won’t fit in your backpacking luggage, but for the average family photographer, the PM270 is portable enough to take away on holidays.

The LBP 3100B’s low initial cost is well complemented by attractive design and decent printing speeds. Still, some odd design choices and slightly inaccurate printing mar this printer a little — it’s good but it doesn’t excel when compared to the competition.
