In around about a month from now, Linksys will unleash its latest broadband router – the WRT160N – which specifically targets users who are after a more wireless networking range. It's a neat unit with an all-new industrial design that should appeal to anyone who needs to install their router in a living room, or any other high-visibility location. From this... To this! As you can see, Linksys has radically changed the design of its wireless routers; gone are the intimidating antennas, which have long been a hallmark of many of Linksys' consumer products, and these have been replaced by three optimally positioned internal antennas. It's definitely a very sexy router! The router uses the 802.11 draft-n protocol, which gives it the ability to move data faster and further than 802.11g, but it'll also run 802.11g gear. The rear has the usual four Ethernet ports for wired networking, but on this model they are 10/100 ports – a gigabit version will be available, too, at a higher price point. Ease of use is high on the agenda for Linksys, and this router supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), which can be invoked at the touch of a button. While a new software application called Lela (Linksys Easy Link Advisor) has the ability to save all your wireless networking setting to a USB stick, so that you can implement them on all the computers in your network easily.
