PC World and Good Gear Guide Back to School Competition

  • Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these conditions of entry.
  • Entry is open to all residents of Australia, except employees and immediate families of the promoter, associated companies and agencies. The promoter is IDG Communications, Level 22 8-20 Napier Street, North Sydney, 2060, ABN14 001 592 650.
  • To enter, entrants must visit http://www.pcworld.idg.com.au/competition/back_to_school or http://www.goodgearguide.com.au/competition/back_to_school and complete the official competition entry form with all requested details, and tell us in 25 words or less: "Tell us in 25 words or less what technology item (that may or may not be invented) would make your school days hassle-free?".
  • The competition commences at 9am on 24 February 2010, and closes at 5pm on 16 April 2010. At 11am, 30 April 2010, the judges will choose ten (10) winners with the most creative and original responses to the question asked. Chance plays no part in determining the winners.
  • The judges' decision in relation to any aspect of the competition is final and binding on each person who enters. No correspondence will be entered into. No responsibility is accepted for late, or lost or misdirected mail.
  • The winner will be notified by telephone.
  • Prizes are subject to availability, and are not transferable. The total prize pool value is $4,295. First prize consists of one (1) Canon LEGRIA HFS11 (digital video camera) valued at $2,099 (inc. GST). Second prize consists of one (1) Canon PowerShot G11 (digital camera) valued at $799 (inc. GST). Third and fourth prize each consist of one (1) Navman MY500XT (GPS unit) valued at $499 each (inc. GST). Fifth prize consists of one (1) Iomega Screenplay Director HD (media player) valued at $399 (inc. GST). Sixth through to 10th prize each consist of one (1) Limited Edition Canon 45th Anniversary Calculator (environmentally friendly calculator).
  • Entries remain the property of the promoter and cannot be returned. The entries may be entered into a database for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes unless otherwise stated by the entrant.
  • The promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any of the prizes. Any change in the value of the prize occurring between the publishing date and the date this prize is claimed is not the responsibility of the promoter.
