In-depth and hands-on: Nintendo Wii Sports Resort and Wii Music 17/07/2008 21:47:25
Here at the E3 2008 games expo, I got the chance to spend some quality time with early builds of Nintendo's latest 'Wii Series' games: Wii Sports Resort (a sequel to Wii Sports) and Wii Music (once planned as a Wii console launch title). The early verdict: Both deliver the irreverent fun you'd expect, coupled with some crafty control methods that you perhaps wouldn't. Both are sure to be popular -- even Wii Music -- though I'm still not 100 percent sold on it. - +
E3 games expo this week in LA: What to expect 14/07/2008 19:01:41
The 2008 E3 Media & Business Summit returns to the Los Angeles Convention Center this week (July 14-17) after last year's gathering in nearby Santa Monica; but as was the case in 2007, it will remain a scaled-back, media-invitation only event. Most of the big names in gaming will be there, though notable absentees (at least from official events) will include Activision Blizzard, id Software and LucasArts. - +

This all-in-one's slightly high price is offset by competitive ink costs. Performance is fair, but photo quality can be very good. - +
A Brief History of Game Consoles, as Seen in Old TV Ads 02/03/2007 11:36:21
The first piece of tech gear that I could call my own wasn't a computer; it was a game console--an original Sega Master System. I remember it, and the often-cheesy marketing that so appealed to my eight-year-old-self, as fondly as I do my first kiss (sorry Kathryn from fourth grade). So, inspired by our recent look at old computer ads and the launch of the Nintendo Wii and Sony PlayStation 3, I've compiled a list of classic console commercials spanning three decades.
