Buying your first dedicated game mouse is a hardcore gaming rite of passage. It marks the turning point where you cease to be a casual enthusiast and become a fully-fledged hardcore fanatic. Suddenly, topping that leader board seems more important th...

Hard disk-based camcorders are swiftly overtaking MiniDV and DVD as the consumer's format of choice. Their convenience and ease-of-use has seen everyone from mums and dads to budding professionals jumping on the HDD bandwagon with nary a look back. B...

JVC Everio GZ-MG275

JVC is something of a pioneer when it comes to hard disk-based camcorders, with nearly a two-year head start on the majority of its competitors. While other manufacturers were sitting idly on the fence, the Nippon veteran aggressively pushed forward ...

Everio GZ-MG135

With a suggested retail price of $899, the Everio GZ-MG135 is one of the cheaper HDD/SD hybrid camcorders on the market. For your hard-earned clams, you get a 30GB hard drive which can store up to 37 hours of standard-definition footage, a 34x optica...

Canon DC220

While they will never be loved by any self-respecting videophile, DVD camcorders continue to attract plenty of buyers, even in the face of newer and superior technology. Perhaps it's the convenience of slotting a disc straight into a player, or the c...

Acer Aspire Gemstone 5920G (302G20N)

Is it just us, or are notebook vendors getting a tad 'precious' when it comes to naming their offspring lately? In recent years, we've been wooed by the DreamBook, JoyBook, and even the LifeBook (what's next? The BlingBook?). With a grandstanding nam...

Toshiba Tecra A9 (PTS52A-00V00F)

As we march boldly into the 21st century, mobility and travel have become important components of most global businesses. This constantly prowling workforce has seen the big and clunky notebook of old fall from favour; to be replaced with a sleeker, ...

Lenovo 3000 V200

The Lenovo 3000 V200 is a typical business notebook. It ticks all the boxes you would expect from such a machine; which is to say it's smart, functional and just a teensy bit on the bland side. Although slightly bulky for an ultraportable unit, its s...

Slim (GSA-E50L)

If there's one good thing to come out of the next-gen DVD format war, it's the plummeting price range of standard-definition optical drives, which are now more affordable than ever. Those who have yet to commit to either Blu-ray or HD DVD are truly s...

PSP (Slim and Lite)

Portable gaming devices are curiously fickle inventions. From the desperately morphing N-Gage to the triumphantly evolving Gameboy, they rarely stay in one size, shape or colour for long. It would seem that console manufacturers are unwilling to leav...

Space Ace HD

It's altogether likely that you've never heard of Space Ace. Originally released in 1984 by Don Bluth Studios, it was an unofficial follow-up to the hugely popular laser disc arcade game Dragon's Lair ...and regrettably, it has forever lived in its b...

Panasonic HDC-SX5

Keeping up with the camcorder industry can be a pretty tough undertaking. Sometimes, it feels like a new video format is launched every other week, with no end to the madness in sight. Whenever we turn our backs, another form of recordable media leap...

Cyberlink PowerDirector 6.0

The nonlinear editing process can be a daunting prospect for first-time filmmakers. From correcting shaky footage to applying subliminal transitions, the huge array of options - both practical and artistic - are often baffling. Cyberlink, better know...

BenQ Joybook S32 (BV13)

Finding a notebook that stands out from the crowd is like searching for a needle in the proverbial haystack. While there are always slight variables to speed, portability, battery life and style, the majority of competitively priced models possess fe...

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
