Samsung SyncMaster 245B

Rarely do we review monitors that don't require a lot of calibration, but Samsung's 245B was almost perfectly set up straight out of the box. We only had to adjust the contrast slightly in order to make some light grey colours visible on a white back...

AMD Opteron 2346 (Barcelona)

The 'Barcelona' core is AMD's first foray into the quad-core CPU market, a market which Intel has had to itself since its introduction of the Core 2 Extreme QX6700 in late 2006. Barcelona is the core upon which AMD's Opteron and Phenom chips will be ...

Pioneer DVR-212

On the whole, Pioneer's 12th generation DVD burner is one of the best devices in its class. Capable of writing single-layer DVDs at a rate of 18x, and double-layer DVDs at a rate of 10x, it's a very quick burner, and our lengthy test period showed it...

Pioneer BDR-202BK

For early adopters, Pioneer's BDR-202BK Blu-ray writer is a good choice. It's priced at just under $900, and it can perform all the functions of a typical DVD burner, as well as read and write to Blu-ray discs. In fact, it's an especially good tool f...

Grundig IR 6114

Grundig's IR 6114 is somewhat of a throwback to the radio-cassette players of old. However, instead of blaring tunes from a crinkly tape, the Grundig can stream MP3 files, and instead of tuning in to dodgy AM/FM signals, it can stream Internet radio ...

Netgear Powerline HD Ethernet Adapters (HDXB101)

HP OfficeJet Pro 8730

I've had a multifunction printer in the office going on 10 years now. It was a neat bit of kit back in the day -- print, copy, scan, fax -- when printing over WiFi felt a bit like magic. It’s seen better days though and an upgrade’s well overdue. This HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 looks like it ticks all the same boxes: print, copy, scan, and fax. (Really? Does anyone fax anything any more? I guess it's good to know the facility’s there, just in case.) Printing over WiFi is more-or- less standard these days.

Windows 10 / HP Spectre x360

Ultimately, I think the Windows 10 environment is excellent for me as it caters for so many different uses. The inclusion of the Xbox app is also great for when you need some downtime too!

Windows 10 / Lenovo Yoga 910

For me, the Xbox Play Anywhere is a great new feature as it allows you to play your current Xbox games with higher resolutions and better graphics without forking out extra cash for another copy. Although available titles are still scarce, but I’m sure it will grow in time.
