Konami's Metal Gear Survive is a co-op zombie survival game

Spoiler: It does not look much like a Metal Gear game.

Last I’d heard, Konami had said it was “getting out” of the traditional games industry. With Metal Gear Solid V wrapped and series creator Hideo Kojima gone, it seemed likely Konami would cut its losses and focus on Metal Gear slot machines or whatever failed video game companies do these days.

But no! Not content to let the Metal Gear name gather rust, Konami’s now announced Metal Gear Survive, a game that looks nothing at all like a Metal Gear game. Here, take a look courtesy of IGN:

Now, I’m not going to jump straight to “This looks terrible.” Who knows? Maybe (however strong my doubts) it ends up being a masterpiece. I will however say that it looks uninspired. “Not like a game Kojima would make,” you might say. “Not really Metal Gear,” the diehards might spout.

Those seem like pretty safe objections. A co-op game about fighting off zombies is not exactly the Cold War-inspired political espionage I expect from the series, nor does the game seem to have any sort of...stealth or emergent systems or anything that made Metal Gear Solid V a decent game despite the fact it was missing literally half its plot.

Hell, this looks like any other Early Access survival game, just affixed with the Metal Gear name and a noticeably nicer trailer.

We’ll see how this develops. One safe bet, though: With a planned release in 2017, this will certainly be out loooong before Kojima’s finished up with his naked Norman Reedus and space whales.

Ultimately, I think the Windows 10 environment is excellent for me as it caters for so many different uses. The inclusion of the Xbox app is also great for when you need some downtime too!

Windows 10 / Lenovo Yoga 910

For me, the Xbox Play Anywhere is a great new feature as it allows you to play your current Xbox games with higher resolutions and better graphics without forking out extra cash for another copy. Although available titles are still scarce, but I’m sure it will grow in time.

For work use, Microsoft Word and Excel programs pre-installed on the device are adequate for preparing short documents.
