LG's V20 is coming this September and will be the first Android Nougat phone

The follow-up to the V10 will include the same dual-screen and camera features that made the original such an unusual smartphone.

LG announced it’s launching the V20 in September, making it the first smartphone to come out of the box with Android Nougat (7.0).

The phone is a follow-up to the V10, which was definitely an outlier with its dual screen and front-facing cameras. LG says those features will return, along with a 32-bit DAC (digital-to-analog converter). This is a first for a smartphone, and promises to enhance the audio experience.

The V10’s audio and video capabilities were among its strengths, but the second screen seemed like a weird add-on that didn’t offer much practical value.

LG hasn’t offered any other specs or details about what else may be found in the V20, so we’ll keep a close watch for when more information leaks out.

Why this matters: LG might beat Google to the punch when it comes to releasing the first phone with Android Nougat. Google announced the Nexus 5X and 6P at the end of September last year, and if the company keeps the same timing, the V20 should be to market before any new Nexus phones. Although Google has hinted more software enhancements are coming to the Nexus line, so it ought to be worth the wait. Naturally, current Nexus phones will get an update to Nougat before any new phones ship with it.

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
