HTC A9 revealed in latest leak, with clear iPhone-inspired design

The leak comes just ahead of an HTC event to show off its newest phone, planned for Oct. 20.

Thanks to another leak, we have a very good idea about how HTC’s next smartphone will look.

The newest photo dump from @onleaks pretty much covers every angle of what has been called the HTC Aero and A9.

It’s worth noting that while the images look like the real thing, they’re actually of a dummy unit—a non-functioning unit made to test industrial design, make cases, etc.

But the actual phone is coming soon. HTC recently announced an event for Oct. 20 to “meet the new Marshmallow.” The company will livestream the event on its own site.

As noted before, the rumored specs for the phone are decidedly mid-range: a 5-inch, 1080p screen, Snapdragon 617 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a 2150 mAh battery. And as is probably obvious from the images, the device has more than just a passing resemblance to the iPhone.

Why this matters: HTC is in dire straits. According to the latest ComScore smartphone report, the company has less than four percent of the market. Its 2015 flagship HTC One M9 was unimpressive, making it difficult to compete against top-flight phones like the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, Edge+, or Note 5. It’s unlikely this one device will pull HTC out of the gutter, but stranger things have happened.

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
