Optus increases prepaid value as 4G Plus network grows

The extras will run for a limited time only

More data and unlimited weekend calls are the big benefits of Optus’ revised prepaid plans as the carrier endeavours to promote the benefits of its expanding 4G network.

The introductory $30 recharge has fares best with a doubled data allowance to 1GB and the introduction of unlimited weekend calls to anyone in Australia. The $30 plan will continue to offer 350 minutes for national phone calls during week days.

The $45 and $60 recharges benefit from 1GB of additional data. This brings the plans’ total data allowance to 3GB and 6GB respectively.

No change has been made to national call quotas as the $45 and $60 plans already include an unlimited allowance, while all three plans offer unlimited national texting.

The New My Prepaid Monthly plan will be offered for a limited time until 19 April 2015, though customers who sign up before then will keep the benefits for the life of their plan.

The revisions will help Optus promote its 4G Plus network, which is planned to cover 90 per cent of the Australian population by April.

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
