Samsung delays Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge launch in Australia

Pre-orders open today with pricing from Optus, Vodafone and Virgin

Samsung has delayed the launch of its Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge phablets in Australia. The Note 4 was originally scheduled for release on 29 October, with the Note Edge due to follow on 5 November.

“Samsung Electronics Australia has revised the on sale date for the Galaxy Note 4 to Wednesday 5th November and the Galaxy Note Edge to Wednesday 12th November,” the company said in a statement issued to Good Gear Guide.

Preorders for the Note 4 open today, 15 October, with Optus and Virgin.

Optus is offering the Note 4 on its 80 My Plan Plus per month. The plan comes with unlimited national voice calls and texting, and 5GB of data each month.

The Note 4 is available from Virgin Mobile for $5 on its $80 Plan per month. Virgin’s offer includes unlimited national voice calls and texting, 6GB of data and $150 of credit for international calls and text.

Telco Vodafone has announced it will carry the Note Edge with pricing starting from $14 on a $70 plan per month.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note range will fend off competition from Apple’s first phablet, the iPhone 6 Plus, which has a 5.5in Full HD screen. The Note range comes with screens from 5.6in that have a 1440p resolution.

Outright pricing for the Galaxy Note 4 is $949, while the Edge will have a retail price of $1249.
