iPad 5 rumour: video shows leaked next-gen iPad with illuminated Apple logo

Next-generation iPad reveals iPad 5 could have illuminated Apple logo

A new video posted to the web this weekend appears to show a partially assembled iPad 5, with the expected thinner and lighter iPad mini-like design, as well as a translucent Apple logo that could light up.

The 30-second-long video clip, uploaded to Japanese Apple blog Macotakara on Saturday, shows the front panel and back casing of what appears to be the next-generation iPad. The video lacks any internal iPad components, however.

When fitted together, the front panel and back casing form the outer shell of what could be the next-generation iPad, with a design akin to the current iPad mini. It has rounded corners, thinner bezels and a slimmer profile.

Through the glass in the front panel, you can see the Apple logo on the rear casing. The logo appears to have a translucent while colour, unlike the current iPads which feature an opaque black plastic logo. The Apple logo shown in the video is more in line with Apple's MacBook lineup, which also have a translucent white logo that becomes illuminated when the laptop is on.

This has sparked speculation that the next iPad's Apple logo could be lit by the LCD panel's LED backlighting system, or another method of illumination.

The video shows Apple's fourth-generation iPad on the left and the iPad mini on the right for comparative purposes.

It's not clear exactly where the video originated from, so we can't verify whether the leak is legitimate. However, it is widely believed that the next-generation iPad will have a new design like the one shown in the video below.

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
