Samsung Galaxy S4 accessories in Australia: when you can get them and how much you'll pay

Australian pricing and availability for Samsung's range of Galaxy S4 accessories

Samsung's Galaxy S4 officially goes on sale tomorrow though all major Australian telcos. For those who will be rushing out to grab one tomorrow, or the many who will be receiving their online pre-orders next week, you'll want to know what accessories you can purchase and when. We've got all those details.

Samsung Galaxy S4: All Australian telco pricing plans

All in all, Samsung will sell a total of 11 official Galaxy S4 accessories in Australia. The products available range from basic cases and spare batteries, to a waterproof S Band fitness band and a wireless charging pad and cover.

Samsung didn't reveal much information about these accessories at the Galaxy S4 launch earlier this week, but we've managed to hunt down pricing and availability details for you.

S View Cover

A cover for the Galaxy S4 that has a rectangular window at the top. It effectively allows users to quickly glance at notifications like the time, battery level and caller ID information without having to flip open the cover.

The S View Cover also unlocks and locks the phone when its opened and closed.

Wireless Charging Pad and Cover

A wireless charging pad and cover. This accessory consists of two parts: a replacement back cover for the Galaxy S4 that enables wireless charging as well as the charging pad itself.

The Wireless Charging Pad and Cover uses the same wireless charging standard (Qi) used in Google's Nexus 4 and the Nokia Lumia 920.

S Band

A fitness band that works in tandem with the 'S Health' app on the Galaxy S4. The accessory syncs via Bluetooth to the Galaxy S4 when you're not carrying your phone with you, such as when you're playing sport.

The S Band records steps, calories burned and distance and also measures sleep efficiency. Samsung says it's waterproof up to a depth of 10 metres.

Heart Rate Monitor (HRM)

A heart rate monitor fitness accessory that works in tandem with the 'S Health' app on the Galaxy S4.

The heart rate monitor uses Bluetooth to connect to the Galaxy S4.

Body Scale

A Samsung-branded body scale that measures weight and sends it to the Galaxy S4 by Bluetooth.

It will work with the Galaxy S4's S Health app and will support up to seven different users.

Flip Cover

A basic flip cover that replaces the back cover of the Samsung Galaxy S4. The back plate has a thin flip cover attached to it, which folds around the side of the phone and protects the screen when closed.

Spare battery

Self explanatory. A spare battery for the Galaxy S4.

Protective cover

A basic protective cover for the Galaxy S4 with a rubber surround and a hard plastic rear cover.

The protective cover is advertised as protection against everyday knocks and bumps.

HDTV adapter

Samsung's officially HDTV adapter allows you to connect the Galaxy S4 to a television.

The adapter uses MHL connectivity and plugs into the Galaxy S4's standard micro-USB port.

Headset

A standard Samsung headset for the Galaxy S4. You get one of these in the box with the phone, but if you lose it you can buy a replacement.

The headset has two speakers in each headphone (woofer and tweeter), uses a tangle-free capable and a built-in microphone handles voice calls.

Extra battery kit

The extra battery kit for the Galaxy S4 consists of an extra battery and a carry case that doubles as a battery charger.

Using this kit, you can therefore charge a second battery while still using your Galaxy S4.
