The Google Nexus 4
Google has exhausted initial stocks of its Nexus 4 Android smartphone less than an hour after the device went on sale yesterday.
The latest flagship Android phone went on sale through Google's Play Store just after midday yesterday. However, both the 8GB and 16GB models were listed as "coming soon" less than an hour later.
The current Play Store page notes that customers can "sign up to be notified by email when Nexus 4 becomes available."
PC World Australia contacted Google to clarify when the device would go back on sale in Australia but is yet to receive a response. The 8GB model Nexus 4 sells for $349 while the 16GB model retails for $399.

There are currently no plans for Australian carriers to sell the phone, but manufacturer LG says that the 16GB model will sell through retailers at a later, unannounced date. However, there's no word yet on which retailers will stock the device.

Was annoyed because they did not notify me, I was refreshing the page all day, went out for lunch and it still kept saying "Coming Soon", so I kept refreshing all day, not realising it was sold out.... my respect for Google for using Apple techniques have gone down the drain

What is the point of requesting an email alert when you are not notified of when the device is available.
