Early benchmarks of iPad 4 indicate that it really is more than twice as fast as iPad 3

Benchmarks for Apple's iPad 4 have surfaced online ahead of its launch on Friday.
Primate Labs reports that a fourth-generation iPad benchmarks appeared on the Geekbench Browser this weekend, and indicate that the new iPad really is more than twice as fast as Apple's third-generation iPad, which was launched just seven months ago.
Apple's fourth-generation iPad, branded iPad with Retina display by the company, was launched alongside the iPad mini and Mac updates during a 23 October event. Apple's claim that the new, new iPad is "Just as stunning. Twice as fast," surprised many, as the third-generation iPad was launched in March this year. This breaks away from Apple's traditional yearly iPad cycle.

According to the benchmarks, the iPad 4's A6X dual-core processor with quad-core graphics is running at 1.4GHz.
The fourth iPad is available to pre-order from Apple now, and will hit the shelves on Friday, alongside the iPad mini.
