Steve Wozniak calls Apple arrogant: 'I wish the iPhone 5 was wider'

Apple's co-founder things the company's excuse for the taller screen was a 'defensive move'

Apple's co-founder Steve Wozniak has said that he wishes that the iPhone 5 had a wider display, and has described the company as 'arrogant'.

In a new interview with South African technology site TechCentral, Wozniak said: "Part of me wishes Apple has not been so arrogant and feeling like "We're the only one with the right clue." I wish they had made a wider version [of the iPhone 5]."

The new iPhone has a 4in display which is the same width as the iPhone 4S display, but has grown in height. Apple claims that it made the decision to increase the size of the iPhone's display in this way to ensure that users could still reach all points of the display with one thumb, as shown in the 'Thumb' TV ad made by the company.

"I think Apple tricked itself by saying: 'Oh, you can reach everything with one thumb'," he continued. "I don't see anybody having trouble using the larger screen. But Apple said that as a defensive move because everyone else had larger screens."

"Not all people want the same thing. A lot of people really like big screen," Wozniak concluded. You can take a look at the aforementioned 'Thumb' ad below.

Wozniak recently spoke about his feelings on Apple, iTunes, jailbreaking and lawsuits in a Q&A on Slashdot. He said that he is 'disappointed' with Apple's blasted iOS 6 Maps app, he thinks that the cloud will soon have 'horrible problems,' and that, in the future, computers will have feelings.

He also revealed that he is planning to move to Australia because it has a better broadband connection.

Windows 10 / HP Spectre x360

Ultimately, I think the Windows 10 environment is excellent for me as it caters for so many different uses. The inclusion of the Xbox app is also great for when you need some downtime too!

Windows 10 / Lenovo Yoga 910

For me, the Xbox Play Anywhere is a great new feature as it allows you to play your current Xbox games with higher resolutions and better graphics without forking out extra cash for another copy. Although available titles are still scarce, but I’m sure it will grow in time.

For work use, Microsoft Word and Excel programs pre-installed on the device are adequate for preparing short documents.
