HTML5 provides a tour of The Hunger Games' "Capitol"

The Hunger Games movie site showcases The Capitol Tour for fans

Microsoft and Lionsgate Entertainment have partnered for an innovative web experience for fans of The Hunger Games.

Designed by the Nerdery and Ignition Interactive, The Hunger Games companion site is built upon HTML5 and showcases exclusive content from the director of the upcoming film, Gary Ross.

The HTML5 foundation means that the site is plug-in free, and while the site experience is immersive on all major browsers, the site mainly acts as a showcase of the HTML5 capabilities of Microsoft's Internet Explorer 9.

What the site developer has done to expand the level of interactivity is through the introduction of Facebook personalisation that is integrated into The Capitol Tour.

After registering for the tour using Facebook Connect, users will find that aspects of the experience will light up in new ways specific to them. So if someone is navigating around the Capitol, they may notice their friends appearing on monitors as they arrive or on the screens in the Control Room.

The Hunger Games film from Lionsgate Entertainment is based on a popular novel series by author Suzanne Collins that has been read by 23 million people worldwide.

The official Hunger Games site can be found at: The Capital Tour

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
