The Australian release of LucasArts' Kinect Star Wars game and the limited edition Kinect Star Wars Xbox 360 console bundle has been set for 5 April.
The game will retail for a recommended retail price of $69.95 while the bundle will be priced at $549.
Kinect Star Wars makes use of the Kinect peripheral for a motion-based adventure that consist of five game modes: Jedi Destiny: Dark Side Rising, Podracing, Rancor Rampage, Galactic Dance Off and Duels of Fate.
"Kinect Star Wars makes it possible for Star Wars fans of all ages to delve into immersive Star Wars experiences", a Microsoft spokesperson said.
The Jedi, Podracing and Rancor modes have already been disclosed by LucasArts in the past, but the newly announced Jedi Destiny Mode will consist of space battles, speeder bikes and landspeeders, as well as duels against iconic characters such as Count Dooku and Darth Vader.
The Duels of Fate mode is a battle-by-battle experience, while the tongue-in-cheek Galactic Dance Off mode lets players dance to Star Wars themed pop tunes.
The Kinect Star Wars limited edition console bundle, which has been a common fixture at Microsoft events as recently as The Big Picture in December, features an R2D2 blue and white design for the console body, as well as a gold control pad that mimics the design of C-3PO.
According to Microsoft, the console bundle will feature an exclusive C-3PO unlockable for Dance Mode.
"With these new reveals and the ability to play in 3D, Kinect Star Wars adds to the growing popularity of the family-friendly gaming portfolio for Kinect for Xbox 360", the Microsoft spokesperson added.
With Kinect Star Wars and the Star Wars themed console bundle coming in April, as well the 3D edition of the 1999 prequel film, Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace 3D, coming to theatres in February, Star Wars fans could be forgiven for partying like it's like 1999 again.
