Toshiba to fix Thrive tablet sleep-mode bug next week

Users of Toshiba's latest Thrive Tablet early next week will receive a software update to resolve a bug that causes the tablet to not wake up from sleep mode.
The Thrive went on sale in June, but some users quickly found that their tablets did not resume operation after going into sleep mode, while some customers had to reboot to make their tablets operational. Toshiba last week acknowledged the bug and said it would issue a fix soon.
A limited number of users experienced the issue and a software update to resolve it will be available early next week, a Toshiba spokeswoman said in an e-mail. The update will be delivered through Toshiba's Service Station application that is loaded on the Thrive. The update will also include multimedia playback enhancements, the spokeswoman said.
The Thrive, which has a 10.1-inch screen and Google's Android 3.1 OS, went on sale last month starting at US$429. The tablet has unique features such as a replaceable battery and has received positive reviews.
But Toshiba has struggled in attempts to break into a tablet market dominated by Apple's iPad. High return rates prompted U.K.-based consumer electronics vendor Dixon's Retail to pull Toshiba's first tablet, the Folio 100, from shelves late last year.

This article does not apply to the Australian Toshiba.
You should make that clear. Toshiba Australia have not given any word about any updates (sleep issues or Android 3.1) at all.

In America, the tab sold with 3.1 and 3.2 not far away. America also got several games and apps which we did not get in Australia. It is impossible to get any info from toshiba Australia. I am holding onto the tab because of it's potential, but not for much longer. No wonder it is not mentioned in the best 10 tablets.

Shame on you Toshiba.
I bought the Tablet thinking i could update to 3.1, which i read in the many Australian reviews before buying.
Their is no difference between the U.S and A.U model.
So why the delay?
