The Mobile Banking Lite app allows Windows Phone 7 customers to quickly and easily check their account balance and transaction history. It can be accessed by entering a single password — once the full log-in details, including customer number, security Number and password have been entered the first time.
St.George Bank CEO, Rob Chapman, said the app was the first Australian mobile banking app for Windows Phone 7 smartphones and the first app of its kind from an Australian bank.
"This is a very exciting new app designed to make banking even easier for our customers," he said. "St.George Mobile Banking Lite has been designed for customers who just need to check their account balance when they're out and about, without having to complete the full mobile banking log-in process.
"It's easy to use. Once a customer downloads the App from the Windows Market Place on their mobile phone, they enter all of their log-in details. From then on, subsequent logons only require customers to enter their Internet password."
Current Windows Phone 7 smartphones available in Australia include the HTC 7 Trophy, HTC 7 Mozart, and HTC HD7, the Samsung Omnia 7 and the LG Optimus 7Q and LG Optimus 7.
St. George Bank said the Mobile Banking Lite app will be available through St.George's Mobile Banking App for iPhone and Android phones in April.
