Acer unveils Revo 100 media centre PC

Acer today announced that it will launch a new media centre PC in April. The Acer Revo 100 includes a combination touchpad and touch keyboard that slots inside the PC's case when not in use.

The Revo 100 will cost $999 and runs an AMD Athlon II Neo dual-core CPU and NVIDIA's ION graphics platform. The rest of the configuration includes up to 4GB of RAM, up to 750GB of hard disk storage, Wi-Fi and Ethernet networking, and support for Acer's media sharing system. A configuration that includes a 3D Blu-ray player will be available.

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
