Bad Company 2 Vietnam expansion dated

The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam expansion releases at the EA Store and Steam on December 18 for PC

An interview with financial news source Bloomberg sheds light on just how dire EA's situation is following a rash of acquisitions. Here are the top three quotes from EA CEO John Riccitiello to Bloomberg.

The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam expansion releases at the EA Store and Steam on December 18 for PC. Later in the week (December 21), it releases on Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network. The PC version releases on other digital distribution channels (Impulse, GamersGate, Direct2Drive, etc.) December 21.

The multiplayer pack puts players in the boots either of a U.S. Marine or as a member of the North Vietnamese Army (NVA) to fight in four new multiplayer maps built using DICE's Frostbite engine. In addition to the four new multiplayer maps, Vietnam features new weapons, vehicles, achievements, and trophies.

The maps are set in the rice fields of the Phu Bai Valley, and the infamous Hill 137, and other locations that emphasize the contentious struggle between U.S. North Vietnamese forces. All maps support classic Battlefield modes such as Conquest and Rush.

New vehicles include the American helicopter, the Russian T54 tan, the US PBR "Pibber" patrol boat, and three other vehicles. Vietnam features 15 new weapons such as the Navy SEAL XM22 machinegun, and the M79 "Blooper" Grenade Launcher.

Finally, Vietnam features two hours of music from the era such as "Ride of the Valkyries" and "Fortunate Son" by CCR, available on eight in-game radio stations. The expansion also features voiceovers for both American and Vietnamese forces, based on communications recorded during the real Vietnam War.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam releases for $14.99 USD or 1200 MS points on Xbox Live Marketplace.

DICE also announced plans to release the VIP Map Pack 7 on December 1. This DLC package includes four multiplayer maps -- including reworked versions of fan favorites Oasis and Harvest Day from Battlefield: Bad Company. This map pack is free to owners of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on PC, and console players who registered their VIP code.

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
