Apple's popular iPad tablet computer will Friday become available in Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore.

Apple did not disclose local pricing of the iPad models.

The handheld device includes a 9.7-inch touchscreen and allows users to view movies, surf the Internet, read e-books and play games. The iPad is already available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, the U.K. and the U.S.

Apple said it would roll out the iPad to many more countries later this year.
