The 3D TV era starts tonight with the broadcast of the Socceroos' farewell football match against the New Zealand All Whites. Fox Sports will be airing the friendly tonight from 7.30 pm AEST on its new 3D channel, which can be viewed on the Sony, Panasonic and Samsung 3D televisions that have recently hit the Australian market.
A free-to-air 3D channel launched over the weekend on digital channel 40. Nine’s coverage of the State of Origin game this Wednesday on the channel will be the first free-to-air 3D sports broadcast worldwide.
The mid-June FIFA World Cup will be SBS’s time to shine, with the network recently confirming that at least 15 World Cup matches would be broadcast in 3D during the month-long tournament.
