Panasonic is giving people across Australia the chance to check out its 3D TVs before release

Panasonic will be will begin touring its VIERA plasma 3D TVs around the country, beginning this week.

Panasonic’s VIERA Full HD 3D plasma televisions, announced last month, will be on display in Westfield shopping centres from May 13. The tour kicks off at Doncaster Westfield in Melbourne and concludes in Marion Westfield in Adelaide on August 15, with dates also scheduled for Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.

Viewers who register at the tour will be eligible for a free pair of 3D viewing glasses when they purchase a VIERA 3D TV — these will be available for sale in Australia from June.

Panasonic’s 3D TV tour follows Sony’s showcase of its own 3D products in Sydney’s World Square. Sony is continuing to set up demonstrations of its 3D television products in other regions.

Samsung currently has the only 3D TVs available on the Australian market, with Panasonic and Sony looking to release their products in coming months.
