Optus launches 'unlimited' Turbo Text deal for prepaid customers

Optus has launched the Turbo Text prepaid mobile service, allowing unlimited text messaging to five nominated mobile numbers on any Australian mobile network.
The Turbo Text offer applies to any Optus prepaid mobile customers who purchase a $30 recharge. The recharge (which expires in 30 days) includes the Turbo Text deal and $30 worth of credit that can be used for national and international calls and regular text messaging, pay as you go Internet browsing or international roaming.
To use the Turbo Text offer, Optus prepaid customers nominate five mobile numbers of their choice via the Optus Zoo Web site. The mobile numbers can be changed twice between each recharge.
Optus' consumer managing director, Michael Smith, said the Turbo Text offer was a result of customers tending to SMS a "small group of friends."
"Today, Optus launches a new rate plan that allows customers to keep in touch with their five best friends as often as they like," he said. "With SMS being a key feature for our customers, Turbo Text is a tailored offer that brings enormous value."
Optus is also offering 100 free SMS for new customers activating a prepaid service.
