Google to push update for Nexus One soon

The software fix is designed to correct a 3G connectivity problem that users have complained about

Google hopes to be able to push out a software fix in about a week for a 3G connectivity problem that many Nexus One users have complained about.

Working with its “hardware partners,” Google has identified problems where a software fix should improve 3G connectivity for some users, Ravi, a Google employee, wrote on the Nexus One support forum. HTC makes the phone.

“We are testing this fix now, initial results are positive, and if everything progresses as planned, we will provide an over-the-air software update to your phone in the next week or so,” he wrote.

However, some users who are experiencing the problem may simply be on the edge of 3G coverage so the fix won’t help them, he cautioned.

Some Nexus One users have complained that their phones do not connect to the 3G network even when another phone in the same location does. After more than 1,200 comments stacked up on the subject in the support forum, Google started a second discussion that now has nearly 390 comments.

The problem drew attention to the issues that Google has providing support for Nexus One users. Just days after the phone landed in customer hands, hundreds of complaints about trouble with 3G connectivity appeared in the forum.

Some customers called T-Mobile and were directed to HTC, which in many cases pointed people back to the operator. Google has no phone support, so people who e-mailed the search giant for help were told they’d receive a response in a day or two.

Google is exclusively selling the Nexus One from its new online store.

Ultimately, I think the Windows 10 environment is excellent for me as it caters for so many different uses. The inclusion of the Xbox app is also great for when you need some downtime too!

For me, the Xbox Play Anywhere is a great new feature as it allows you to play your current Xbox games with higher resolutions and better graphics without forking out extra cash for another copy. Although available titles are still scarce, but I’m sure it will grow in time.
