LG Australia today unveiled two new fashion-oriented mobile phones, the New Chocolate and the New Chocolate Slide, aimed at people who are "looking to be different".
The flagship New Chocolate (BL40) phone has a 4in widescreen display with a 21:9 aspect ratio, which LG claims provides a "rich media experience".
The wide display of the New Chocolate offers more space when browsing Web pages, watching movies and playing games. It also offers a split-screen view when accessing e-mail and SMS messages.
"The New Chocolate is very fashion focused and oriented towards people who are looking to be different," said Nathan Dunn, General Manager, Mobile Communications, LG Australia.
In addition to the New Chocolate, LG has also released a more traditional-looking slider handset, the New Chocolate Slide. It shares a similar glossy black-and-red colour scheme with the higher priced handset, but lacks a touch screen and uses a traditional numeric keypad.
"The New Chocolate Slide expands the Chocolate series with a beautiful yet practical slider which reflects our design leadership and focus on consumer benefits," said Dunn.
LG has confirmed that both the New Chocolate and the New Chocolate Slide will be compatible with the company's mobile application store, which is set to launch by the end of December.
The LG New Chocolate mobile phone will be available to order in December for $999 through major mobile phone outlets such as Allphones.
The New Chocolate Slide will be exclusive to Telstra for two months after its release, and will be available through Tlife stores, Telstra shops and retailers on a $30 plan from 26 December.
