New Dreamcast title in 2009

What began as an exercise in game coding has become a commercial release thanks to German publisher redspotgames

Publisher Senile Team has taken advantage of the Dreamcast's tenth anniversary in America to announce the imminent release of Rush Rush Rally Racing, a new Dreamcast title and loving tribute to fans of vintage two-dimensional rally games.

What began as an exercise in game coding has become a commercial release thanks to German publisher redspotgames, and gamers who fanatically held on to their obsolete consoles can look forward to dusting off their controllers in October if they pre-order the title now.

Though you'll be paying in euros the developer promises that the title is region-free, playable on any Dreamcast and includes both single-player and multi-player racing modes with a maximum of four players. With deliciously cheesy animated cutscenes and a marketing headline like "No sponsored cars, no realistic environments - just plain old fun!" RRRR aspires to be the surprising swan song of cartoony top-down racers on the Dreamcast.

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
