Sony Australia today announced the release of three new Blu-ray players: the BDP-S360, BDP-S560 and BDP-S760.

The BDP-S560 and BDP-S760 will both feature wireless connectivity for BD-Live (Profile 2.0). This will allow users to access Blu-ray media and other online content without an Ethernet cable. The BDP-S560 and BDP-S760 will also feature USB photo playback (via a front-mounted port), DLNA photo streaming and 7.1-channel audio decoding.

In addition to these features, the flagship Sony BDP-S760 Blu-ray player will also offer 7.1 analog audio outputs, Precision Cinema HD upscaling, gold-plated terminals and an integrated headphone jack for virtual surround sound. This simulates the sound of a home theatre setup when using a pair of headphones.

The entry-level BDP-S360 boasts a 6-second start-up time for Blu-ray movie playback and improved DVD upscaling to 1080p.

Sony Australia's Paul Colley said that the new features offered by the BDP-S760 and BDP-S760 were designed to give consumers a greater entertainment experience in their living rooms. "The [Blu-ray] experience is enhanced with additional features such as Bonus View and BD Live via Wi-Fi,” Colley said.

The Sony BDP-S360, Sony BDP-S560 and Sony BDP-S760 are available now for recommended retail prices of $449, $549 and $729, respectively.

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.
