With the Christmas season in full swing, manufacturers and retailers are beginning to offer bundle deals to make their high-end products more attractive to put under the tree.
Panasonic leads the charge, offering a bonus Nintendo Wii games console with every VIERA Full HD plasma television sold before Christmas. With models ranging from $2549 to $11,999, the addition of a free $399 Wii might not make this a spur-of-the-moment purchase but it will provide an extra present to put under the tree for the kids if you’re already considering a new television.
Samsung’s Christmas promotions include a bonus BDP1500 Blu-ray player worth $499 when purchasing a Series 9, 8, 7, 6 or 5 LCD or plasma television. This offer extends from the low-priced Series 5 32in model ($1649 RRP) to the class-leading Series 9 55in ($6999 RRP). In addition, Samsung is offering $100 cash back on a range of home theatre systems.
If you can’t decide between a netbook and a television, Toshiba will give you both. If you buy a 37, 42 or 46in model from its XV500A LCD range, you’ll get a free NB100/C02 laptop worth $799. This is a pretty good deal but you’ll need to shell out $3739 (RRP) for the 46in model.
Camera lovers aren’t left out either. Canon’s Big Red promotion runs until the end of January, with the majority of cameras coming with a free camera bag as well as entry into a prize draw for $20,000 cash and travel.
These deals come as online retailer DealsDirect.com.au announced 2008 as its most successful year to date, with approximately 10,000 parcels shipped per day. DealsDirect.com.au co-founder Paul Greenberg said, “It goes to show that, particularly at Christmas, Australians really do love a bargain”.
