It differs from a traditional digital or film SLR, though, in that it is significantly smaller and lighter without compromising the quality of the in-built image sensor.The G1 offers all the traditional manual controls of an SLR, with manual zoom and focus rings on the interchangeable lenses.The G1’s feature set includes Panasonic’s Intelligent Auto picture system, to ensure photos are easy to capture at any time. A broad range of custom picture modes and settings are also easy to access.Two lenses will be initially offered with the G1. A short 14-45mm lens has a minimum aperture range of f3.5 to f5.6, while the telephoto 45-200 will have a range of f4 to f5.6.The G1 is offered in three different colours for the style-conscious, with red and blue casings accompanying the traditional black model.The most expensive kit initially offered with the G1 includes both ‘kit’ lenses and various accessories including a lens petal hood, and will cost $2199.00 upon release inThe G1 opens up a new digital camera market, with size and weight no longer being a deciding factor when considering a digital SLR camera.The body of the camera weighs only 385 grams and measures only 12.4 centimetres wide and 4.5 centimetres in height.
