Sony Australia today announced the launch of new high speed Memory Sticks in 4GB and 8GB capacities.
The Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo HX series allows large amounts of data to be stored and fast data transfers conducted. The HX series can store up to 1000 10-megapixel images in the 4GB model and up to 2000 in the 8GB model.
The Memory Sticks can be used in Sony’s range of Cyber-shot digital still cameras, Handycam camcorders and with the PlayStation Portable (PSP) handheld gaming console.
The Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo HX series has a transfer rate up to three times faster than Memory Stick PRO Duo Mark2; the new cards also feature read speeds of up to 20 megabytes per second.
“Possessing a sizable storage capacity and faster data transfer speed, the new Memory Stick HX series allows users to spend more time enjoying Sony’s entertainment devices, making it easier to share content than ever before”, said Maurice Satya from Sony Australia.
Both models in the PRO-HG Duo HX series will be sold with a USB adaptor. The new Memory Sticks will be available in Australia from October. The 4GB model will retail for $84.95, while the 8GB model will be sold for $154.95.
