Crysis Warhead hits US shelves Sept. 12

Pre-order option available

The sequel to last year's ambitious hyper-real shooter Crysis will arrive on September 16, EA said in a press release Wednesday.

Called Crysis Warhead, the next instalment in the series actually has two release dates. The first, Sept. 12, is for European PC owners. The second, Sept. 16, is when the title arrives on U.S. shores.

A pre-order option is available immediately at the Electronic Arts Store for US$25. If you happen to have not played the original Crysis, there's a special discount of $10 if you order it and Warhead.

"Fans of Crysis are going to enjoy more of the open-ended gameplay, cutting-edge visuals and huge, epic battles from the first game, while also finally finding out what kind of havoc Psycho was wreaking on the other side of the island," said Cervat Yerli, president of developer Crytek.
