Small and cheap subnotebooks

OLPC XO-1
The XO-1 is the brainchild of the international OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) social welfare organisation. Manufactured by Taiwanese company Quanta Computer, the laptop is designed to be as cheap as possible, in an effort to make the technology available to developing countries. The project has been around since mid-2005 with the XO-1 reaching full-scale production in November 2007.
