Eidos plans more Hitman titles, and working on new Tomb Raider

Eidos announced plans to acquire Hitman developer IO Interactive late last week and plans to launch the next Hitman title in late autumn in the US. The publisher also commented on a new Tomb Raider game, telling gamesindustry.biz that "the fundamental technology is already complete and the character is up and running in the environment with new moves and new control systems."
With Crystal Dynamics taking the helm, Eidos is hoping to resuscitate the Tomb Raider series, which has been beaten to death with uninspiring sequels and equally lackluster movies. The poor performance of Lara Croft: Angel of Darkness led to Core Design losing the license, as well as the departure of studio head Jeremy Heath-Smith from the company and Eidos' board.
